This was a major work by Edouard Gautreau to a personal friend Albain Poirier who commissioned him to paint in August 1990, at the time Albain Poirier paid $800.00 for the painting. These paintings are well documented & come with original receipt and photo of the artist with the paintings.

Edouard Gautreau (1906 – 1992) was known as a prominent Acadian artist born in Sainte-Anne NB. He is most known for his murals throughout the historical churches in the region including the 138-year-old Sainte-Anne-de-Kent church (described as the Sistine Chapel of Acadia, a provincial heritage because of its paintings by Gautreau), that burnt in June 2005 losing 72 of his paintings in the great fire.
