Every year, millions of people die from contaminated water! Children
5 years and under are one of the most affected groups. Unsafe drinking water,
lack of water for hygiene and poor sanitation contribute to 700,000 deaths from
diarrhoeal disease alone. That’s over 1900 kids a day!
Limuru
is a village in central
The
region has suffered years of drought and high population growth, which have led
to serious water contamination. Reports from the Canadian Executive Director of
International Needs, who was on the ground in January 2016, says the situation
in Limuru is desperate and that this project is a must… not only to help the
current situation, but to make an impact for years to come.

Clean Water Project
Overview:
This project aims to drill a well at least 250 feet down into the bed rock;
this is the standard recognized by the UN. At this depth groundwater is
naturally protected from bacterial contamination and is reliable during
drought. Project Cost: $50,000
